On July 4, 2026, the GORDON GU Art Gallery officially unveiled the site-specific exhibition “Lakes & Hills in One Glow” featuring the works of independent artist Jin Geng. Hosted at Hall 3 of our gallery on Longjing Road in Hangzhou, this exclusive showcase runs until October 3, 2026, capturing the spiritual essence and seasonal beauty of the Jiangnan landscape.

Reimagining Traditional Landscapes

Jin Geng, an independent artist based in Hangzhou, brings a broad cultural perspective and acute artistic intuition to his work. For this Longjing-based exhibition, he abandons traditional realistic depiction. Instead, Jin utilizes contemporary composite materials and unique palette knife textures to sculpt the misty tea plantations, forest breezes, and the serene ripples of the West Lake directly onto the canvas. His creations offer a pure, poetic expression that transcends conventional visual boundaries.

The opening reception featured a profound dialogue between Professor Shan Zeng from the China Academy of Art and artist Jin Geng.
